Genius in colour: Why William Eggleston is the world’s greatest photographer

The question section is best thing about this article.  WE you are a legend!

One example.

Philip Hensher, novelist and art critic: What should a photographer do with symmetry?

I have no idea.

Turn to the end of this and you will discover, to your surprise, amusement and perhaps even mild dismay, that William Eggleston has chosen to answer a series of questions put to him by curators, photographers, critics and fans in as maddeningly deadpan and laconic a way as could ever be imagined. It is as if he has stuffed up his ears because he simply cannot tolerate the clamour. Should we blame him for this impatience with post-facto chit-chat?

A lovely short on photography told in Henri Cartier Bresson’s voice by Eli Sinkus

“Everything is interesting but at the same time you can’t just photograph everything you see there is some places were the pulse beats more “

“There is no new ideas in the world there is only new arrangements of things, everything is new every minute is new”

The Light is Back on for [Transpose]!!
So the last few weeks had me trying to source equipment I need to continue my [Transpose] project.  And most of it has arrived.  Yay.  I’m broke but it’s here!
I’ve a big long list of people to get through but do plan on getting through everyone as quick as I can.  I’ll be shooting next Wednesday the 3rd, Thursday 4th, Friday 5th and Saturday 6th.  These will be the first few sets of shoots for this project.  Want to be involved?  Get in touch - almcdonnell@hotmail.com
[Transpose] is the documentation of trans* lives in Ireland including allies, activists and partners/family via an environmental photography project.  It’s about positive visibility and aims to highlight the rights denied to trans* people in Ireland.  It’s also about documenting spaces.  It is my intention to show these images at PhotoIreland this year and in an exhibition as part of the MFA photography program at the University of Ulster.
